The Teaching Diploma (DaF Lehrgang) is a six-module professional training program for qualified German-language teachers. It prepares participants to plan, deliver, evaluate, and reflect on modern, action-oriented, and competence-based German lessons. The program covers CEFR-based lesson planning, teaching methods, practice activities, material adaptation, assessment design, online teaching, digital tools, and teaching German to young learners and teenagers. Applicants must provide proof of German language proficiency at B2–C1 level, at least 450 hours of teaching experience, and a university degree in German Studies, German Language, or Translation Studies. Outstanding applicants may be considered for official employment at the Austrian Institute.
